New Year, New Kits, New Stuff!!!

With a New Year about to begin, it's meaning is so much more than just a new year! It gives us the opportunity to cherish another round of seasons, with Spring being the next one, another set of holidays, another chance to grow ourselves! I always look at the New Years as a time to start with a clean slate! A way to begin new adventures! And of course a time to set some scrappers resolutions - things I personally want to accomplish! So, if you want to accomplish some scrapbook pages, head on over to the Logan Village mall and pick up a few of the new kits just put out - or take advantage of some recent markdowns!

In spot 12, I put the two kits posted below, I also added a few heritage themed kits as well. Each kit comes with all the supplies and color instructions to complete the pages. Merry & Bright includes the title as well. Each kit is only $10.00.

I am a firm believer that creativity takes precedent over the vacuum, cooking and doing the "LAUNDRY". Lucky for me I have a family that embraces my creativity and doesn't get to worked up over little messes. That is as long as we have a few good boxes of cereal and everyone has clean underwear! When all the underwear is dirty ain't nobody smiling at Momma sitting at my scrapbook desk expressing my creativity!

Top Ten Layout

Here's a new premade layout for sale at Logan Village Mall. This layout has a full page just waiting for special journaling from you! Use the top ten page as a list of things you love about someone, special places you've gotten to visit, or perhaps ten things you want to remember such as a child's favorite toys or stories. Use alphabet stickers or a journaling pen to add the details. There's plenty of room for several photos and an extra block for a title or other journaling. There are three premade layouts plus the sample available for purchase on Monday 12/15.

This layout and my "Let it Snow" layout are now available at Logan Village Mall. This layout would be perfect for any occasion. The colors are fun and versatile and there is space for multiple photos and journaling. The colors are much more vibrant than this photo shows, but it was cloudy this morning. The color of the flowers are actually a sparkly burgundy and brown. Left click on the photo for a larger view.

# 2 in the "Everyday Life Series"

When I was a little girl my Great Grandma Finney had a wringer washer. To get the water out of the clothes we had to send them through this roller contraption. It was crazy-cool and I always wanted to help. I can still hear her say "watch your fingers... If you get em caught in the rollers they will be flat as a pancake." Ouch! When the laundry was clean we would push the washer back outside on to her back porch then go hang our clothes on the line to dry. I wish I had a picture of that old machine and the laundry blowing in the wind.

When my kids grow up and have children I want them to be able to look back and see how our everyday life really was. Take a picture of your dirty laundry over flowing from the baskets. The clean folded piles of clothes with your child's favorite shirt on top. Your washer/dryer while they are running and lit up. What about the soap and softener you use. What is high tech now surely won't be in 20 years.

Let It Snow

It did snow a bit this weekend. Did you get any photos? This pre-made 2 page layout (which is fully assembled --- all you need to do is add photos and a title) will be perfect for them. I didn't include a title so you can add your own with letter stickers, Thickers, or a title cut from your die cutting machine. (How many of you have one of these and hardly use it?) Some suggestions for a title are: Snow Fun, Snow Much Fun, Snow Cute, Snow Play, Let It Snow, Baby It's Cold, Snow Ball Fight. There are two kits available plus the sample kit. I should have these up in the booth by the end of the week.

Mickey Mouse 2 page layout

Sorry to take so long to get the Mickey page done. I have had a hard time getting creative since I left Scrapbook Corner. I now have my Expression and was able to finish the layout. I hope to have it in the store by Friday afternoon (Dec 5th). I have been in the store twice this week and had to straighten the rack both times. I also marked down 2 of my layouts. Keep on creating.

I was just in today for the first time to put up some of my things, and I am thrilled with the selection of scrapbooking layouts and other stuff! The layouts I put up today are Home for the Holidays, Super Star and First Day of School. These layouts are $10.00 and include directions and all the supplies to create the two page layout (actually the cutting is done for you, all you need to do is piece together and add your own photos and titles). It's the time of year when we all have long shopping lists and To-Do lists and we really have to make ourselves stop and remember this is a time for being thankful and appreciative. At least, I know I do! This weekend, I was able to spend some time in my scraproom being creative. And it made me remember that I'm so thankful to have scrapbooking as a hobby, and as a time to be creative. When I scrap those pictures I am thankful too - for the people in my life and the times we share together.

So between all the things you are planning to get done, add this one in too - do a page kit from Our Creative Outlet, and record all those thoughts and feelings!

Some more bling in the shop!!

Carolyn Rollins has been busy creating cards for the shop. It is nice to have the card rack full again. I have decided that I will never buy another card from a store again. There is to much talent right here to be buying a generic card from any where else!!

I am also adding a picture of my layout titled "home sweet home". I will add wallet sized pictures of our gingerbread houses to it!! It is temporarily sold out but I will make a few more kits this week to restock. It is a completed page and sells for $8.50.

Karen Groff alert!!!

Isn't it lovely!!! It is another Karen Groff page that you just want to hold for awhile and study with amazement. All of the detail this woman adds to her pages is just unbelievable. This kit is $12.50. Everything is cut and the embossing has been done!! Wow! (who embosses any more?) Imagine how special a picture of your children with Santa would look on this page!!

Christmas layout and an 8x8 Birthday kit!!!

In the next week all of the Creative Outlet designers will have all of their Christmas layouts, cards and paper crafts in the shop. Lisa Fritz created this layout to hold a lot of pictures and many memories!! To get a jump on the Holidays come in and pick up a few kits. By the time Christmas gets here all you will have to do is add the pictures!!

Have you ever scrapped in 8x8? If you never have now would be the perfect time to try it out. Lisa Fritz has put the first 8x8 kit in the shop. It is a two page birthday kit!! 8x8 albums are easy to put together and they are small enough to display on a coffee table or desk. (They also go nicely in big purses to work to show off to co-workers!!!)

First Friday!

Did you know that the first Friday of every month is kind of a celebration on the downtown Noblesville square? There is usually fun things going on and all of the stores stay open late. Logan Village Mall is open until 9 PM, and there are all kinds of bargains to be found there. Our Creative Outlet will be offering 10% off of everything.

Karen Groff just added these card sets to the shop. They are typical Karen. Perfect and so professional. Anyone on your christmas card list will love having one of these hand made cards arrive in their mailbox.

Scrapbook Corner is closing.

My beloved "Scrapbook Corner" is closing. I wish it wasn't true but it is. December 1st is the day the doors close forever. I have loved that store since it opened 5 years ago. It was my happy place. The place where I could go and talk scrap everyday of the week. The place that gave me such great friends and peaked my creativity. How will I survive? Ugggh!! It was the best and I loved every inch of the place and all of the employees. Mandy Schnabel, if you are reading "our creative outlet" blog I just want to say thank you soooo much. Please keep in touch and I will be watching for your next big adventure. I'll have your back and be ready to support you in what ever it is that you do. I know it will be good and make a difference in this world. Good luck my friend!!

Sweet Baby Girl

We have a baby girl in the family that we don't get to see too often so I was inspired to create this layout as I was thinking about little Audra. It's a sweet innocent layout to match her personality. On the left page, there is a spot for a larger photo along with a small 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 photo and room to journal. On the right page you can put as many photos on as you can fit! The layouts are already put together so all you have to do is add your photos and a bit of journaling and you are done!

Christmas Card Kit

Are you ready to start making Christmas cards? Celeste Brodnik has created the first Christmas card kit for our shop. The supplies for each card are pre-cut and individually packaged making these cards easy for you to put together. Your kit will include these four beautiful cards and sells for $8.00. Our football season is over:(

McGwire's football team lost in the second round of the tournament on Saturday. It was really sad because his little Wisconsin Badger's had an undefeated season. No team even scored against them. Sooo they came in 3rd out of 18 teams. Not to bad huh!! In honor of a fun season I decided to make a single page football layout for the shop. Any jersey color will match and it is super simple to put together. I will have it on display on Tuesday and the cost is $8.50.

Our creative outlet has 11 designers contributing now. Each time I'm there I come out inspired and ready to scrapbook or mail a card to someone special. Speaking of cards have you seen any of them? They are professional I'm telling you. I have vowed never to buy another card from anywhere but our cute little creative outlet. In the next few weeks I will be posting layouts from all of the other girls so you will be able to see the wonderful variety that spills out of that place!!! I will get some cards too.

I got so excited I forgot a few things!!

I forgot to mention the project that I have been working on for the shop. It is called the "EVERYDAY LIFE SERIES"! It will be a one page layout each month about everyday events that happen in people's lives. Things that in twenty years will be so fun to look back on. My debut page is all ready hanging up and is titled "TODAY". It is how a typical day is spent. Each kit will cost between $7.00 and $8.00 and will come out around the 1st of each month. (this one will be a little early because I just can't wait to get started.) Each kit will have all of the pieces cut so all that will have to be done is adhering things down, add journaling and pictures. My goal is to make it easy enough that only a small amount of time will be spent putting it together. There will only be a few kits available but if you email me I will be happy to make an extra.

I also wanted to say thank you to all that have shopped at "our creative outlet" and for telling others about us. We are starting to get noticed!! Can I get a whewww hoooo!!!?

Come take a free class with me!

I would like to invite you to come take an online class with me. It is called "stories in hand" and it will be taught by Jessica Sprague. Jessica loves telling the stories of her life with paper, photoshop, words and pictures. She is so passionate about her craft that she is willing to teach one of her classes for free. I have never taken an online class before so I am excited to get my feet wet for free. Once you have registered you can get a materials list so that when the class starts you will be ready. Did you know that the majority of the designers in "our creative outlet" serve on scrapbook design teams locally and around the country? The rest of the designers have worked in the scrapbooking industry for many years. Jolene Johnston is no exception. She is currently on several design teams and is a freelance designer for Scrapbook corner. She has designed this "Autumn" layout exclusively for our shop. Her professionalism really shows in all the little details that she has added in the dimensional leaves, ribbon and rhinestones. There are only 3 kits available and they are only $7.00 each!!!!
